Today, I learned about war stories after Joseon Dynasty. After Joseon Dynasty, there were lots of countries in Korean Peninsula, such as Korea. But before Korea and Japanese colonization, there was opening-of-the-port time. Just before 1910, when we lost our country, there was a very important bullet shots in Harbin. On October 26, 1909, Ito Hirobumi got off the train to Harbin. Then, a man went through the crowd, in front of Ito Hirobumi. The man's name is Ahn Jung-geun. He was born in a Yangban family, liked to shoot guns, and was a very good shooter. He was a ritghteous army's company commander. He had done a finger-cutting oath with his friends, and was trying to kill Ito Hirobumi. So on October 26, 1909, at 9:30 am, he shot 6 bullets, 3 at Ito and 3 at his servants. He didn't know Ito's face, so he had to shoot his servants. So he was imprisoned in Seodaemun prison, and was executed there. He wrote 2 books, 안응칠 역사 and 동양평화론. 동양평화론 is still not finished. I think Ahn Junggeun was very brave and keen. Some people say that is just a terror, but I think he did the right thing for our country. Thank you. |
