Hello my name is Yuha. Today, I went to the Changdeokgung Palace and I would like to talk about Donhwamun and Seonjeongjeon. The Donhwamun was built in 1412 and it is the oldest out of the 5 main gates in Seoul. The Donhwamun is a 2-story building and it has a 9 ton bell. The 9 ton bell ring 2 times a day at 4 a.m. 33 times which meant that everybody could be outside and could get to work. It also rung at 10 p.m. 28 times which means it's the end of the work and you cannot go outside. Seonjeongjeon was built for being the kin's office. It has blue-colored tiles, which was very expensive back in Joseon times. It was very expensive because it came from for away. Today, the president also works under a blue-tile called Cheongwadae(û¿Í´ë). I felt a little bit confused because there was so many history in Changdeokgung Palace. |
