Today I went to the Seodamun prison. It was built in 1908 by the Japanese. And in 1910, we lost our independence, so many of our ancestors did many movements to get our independence back. But through this movement, many of freedom fighters got into the jail. They were tortured a lot and even killed. So now I'll talk about many ways that Japanese tortured our freedom fighters. One of the ways I think is the most painful is the wall-coffin torture. They put a person in the wall-coffin and closed the door. The wall-coffin is very small that you couldn't scoot down or sit down. They had to stay in there for few hours which it would have been very painful. Second way is putting our ancestors in the dark room with no food or drink. They couldn't see anything or talk with anyone. They had no toilets or any kinds of foods for days. I wouldn't have survived even a day. There were over 200 torturing ways other than ones that I shared.
After visiting the prison, I was very thankful for our freedom fighters and respectful for them. Thank you!
