The King's Life
Hello, my name is Chae and today, I will tell you about the king's life, where the king lived, and his clothes. I chose this as a topic because before class, I thought that kings did everything the wanted and had a peaceful life. However, after class, I thought exactly the opposite, that being a king are not always good.
Firstly, the king usually eat, and sleep in his bedroom, which is the Gangnyeongjeon and the Gyeongbokgung palace. It is very difficult to find a toilet near the king's bed chamber because the king had is private bathroom called the maehwatuel. The kind usually spent a lot of time studying about the Joseun and China's political history. Also, gyeongyeon was held three times a day wtih the officials. When, the king had to eat, the maid ate it first because of the poison. After the morning gyeongyeon, he met with the officials and after having lunch, he studied again or exercised. Finally, after diner, he could spend his private tiem with is family.
Secondly, the place that the king lived was called the gunggwol. Gung means the palace and gwol means the wall and the door that protects the gung. The gunggwol had good and specific security systems because it was one of the most important places of all times.
Thirdly, The kings usually wore a gonyongpo with the ikseongwan on his head. We call this the sangbok. Teh gyongpo had a red color and a picture of a dragon with five claws. However, during the ceremonies, the king wore the gujangbok with a myoellyugwan on his head and we called this a myeonbok. Finally, when the king met the officials, he put the gangsapo witht he eonyugwan on the head and this is called the jobok. There are many kinds of clothes that the king wore and each one of it had different uses in different places.
In conclusion, I told you about the day in the life of a king, where the king lived, and his colthings. I thought that being a king is not always good though. What is your opinion about being a king and would you like it, or not?
