Hello, my name is Mingwan, and I would like to talk about Dol in the lives of Koreans.

Dol (µ¹) is a traditional birthday celebration held when a baby turns one year old. It is meant to celebrate the baby¡¯s first birthday and to wish the child a bright and successful future.

During Dol, a family member places items such as money, an arrow, and a book in front of the baby. The item the baby picks up first is believed to represent their future. For example, if the baby picks up money, it is believed that they will become wealthy. If the baby picks up a book, they are believed to become a scholar.

I found it very interesting to learn about Dol in Korean culture. I hope to learn more about it someday.
