Today I learned about Changgyeonggung and Deoksugung palace. Changgyeonggung and Deoksugung palaces both had their outstanding buildings and gates. They were all so beautiful and I was interested in Dancheong decorations. Dancheong is a colorful decorations that are used on the buildings, especially Hanok. In Joseonn dynasty, many palaces and buddhist temples were decorated with dancheong which shows king's power and dignity. Dancheong has 5 colors that each of them represents special symbols. First, yellow represents earth which also means the center and the red represents fire. And black,white symbolizes water and metal. Lastly green or blue stands for wood or tree. All five of them are important elements for nature. Also dancheong has a role of exterminating insects. Dancheong seemed very amazing for me having lots of roles.
