Today, I learned about wars happened in the Korean Peninsula. I was especially interested in Salsu battle. Salsu battle was happened between Sui China and Goguryeo. It was also a battle between two generals, One is Euljimundeok from Goguryeo and Woojungmoon from Sui China. Some great strategies were used by general Euljimundeok and he intensionally lost and brought Sui chinese soldiers close to Pyeongyang Castle. Then, he sent a poem to Woojungmoon, and when Woojungmoon got to know that it was his trick to bring the soldiers in, and he retreated to Sui China. But General Euljimoondeok destroyed the dam that was ready when the Sui chinese soldiers was half way across. So between 300,000 people from Sui China, only 2,700 of them survived. This is Salsu battle. I think Euljimundeok used some great strategies in Salsu battle. Thank you.
