The place I visited today was Seodaemun Prison History Hall. What I learned mainly was how cruelly Japan traumatized and tried to destroy Korea¡¯s hope, and how the Koreans endured and fought for it. While learning the tortures, I felt scared and small, but at the same time I realized that only being scared and afraid in front of Japan and their tortures, wouldn¡¯t have been the way that our freedom fighters fought for the independence. They were not different from us because they had the same identity of Korea like us. The freedom fighters tried until the end to stay strong, even they had to endure the pain of tortures. Although there were betrayers who couldn¡¯t stand the tortures, our freedom fighters sacrificed for our nation and us. After realizing this truth and learning about the meanings of Taegueukgi, I felt more proud. Taegeukgi is made with rotating Yin and Yang in the center, Geon, Gon, Ri, Gam and even the white part meaning the purity and peace. This made me remind me how this ideology was contained all along our history and how our ancestors and we protected our identity. Therefore, I think that I will always remember that our identity stands as our Taegeukgi stands like our freedom fighters strong minds.
