Today I studied about battles and wars that happened from a long time ago. The first country of Korea is Gojoseon and after the end of Gojoseon, many countries came after. I was most interested in battles between Sui China and Goguryeo which was called the Salsu battle. Salsu battle started with a letter from Sui China. It was written that 'we conquered all land in Asia, so give us your land too.' But Goguryeo didn't back out. So Sui China led 300,000 soldiers to Goguryeo but the weather helped Goguryeo and they could easily win. But Sui China didn't give up and led 1,130,000 soldiers to Goguryeo. Goguryeo lost all battles on purpose to tire Sui China's soldiers out. And swept at Salsu river when Sui China army was going back. Only 2,700 soldiers could go back which means that Goguryeo won very big. It was very interesting to learn about lots of battles that was in our history. Thank you!! |
