I saw the cycle of a birth in the museum. When a baby is born they put a straw rope called Geumjul for their babies. The rope is placed over the gate. People hung the straw rope to protect the house form evil spirits and to warn people not to enter the house. If a boy is born, charcoal and red peppers were tied on the straw rope.
