We are doing free tours of Korean traditional palaces and museums for all the foreigners
in Korea. There will be 1 hour of touring and guiding is done by an English speaking history teacher of Marie story.
After that, visitors will spend an hour visiting with Korean children who can explain Korean history.
This is the time for children to develop their English communication skills and experience.

Originally, Gyeongun Palace was the house of the older brother of King Seongjong. It became the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty after the Imjin war. King Gojong rebuilt it and announced the change of the name of Joseon to Daehanjeguk (Korean Empire).

A house contains the remains of people, and can give us an idea of how they lived. We can learn about the thinking of the Joseon people through the Korean traditional house, Hanok. Namsan Traditional Village is located in downtown Seoul. It shows houses of different classes during the Joseon Dynasty.

In 1910, Korea lost its independence. Japan ruled the country for 36 years. Koreans tried to recover their freedom. Many patriots were put in prison. Seodaemun prison was the biggest prison at that time.

Marie Story is a tour program designed to teach students about Korean beautiful Palaces and Museums.
Students will gain a better understanding of Korean culture through English.
